How do i Adjust my Screen Size correctly?

I bought a new monitor for my computer, and now the screen is messed up. Like, it's Stretched out. i dont know. is there any way to make it Normal looking?

(and yes i have tried to mess with the controls on the monitor, but there is nothing that helps it. )

i dont know how to change my screen resolution to a custom size....help!How do i Adjust my Screen Size correctly?
Your computer isn't sending the right size image to your monitor, so the image looks stretched out and distorted. Unfortunately, fiddling with your monitor's controls won't help here, as you've discovered.

To fix this, you need to adjust the size of the image (this is called the ';screen resolution';) that's being sent to your monitor. Luckily, this is easy to accomplish.

Assuming that you're running some version of Windows, this webpage offers a decent walkthrough on how to adjust your resolution:

Unfortunately, without more information as to the make/model/size of your monitor, I cannot tell you what will work best. You can try a few resolutions (move the slider to a setting you want to try, and click apply), to see what works best for you.

Hope this helps. Good luck! How do i Adjust my Screen Size correctly?
the easiest way is to right click on an empty space on your desktop. click properties. click settings tab at the top of the small window that appears (display properties). from there you can change your screen resolution and color quality.

if you want to use the interface of your video card, click advanced on that same window (bottom right). choose the tab with the name of your video card on the top. from there you can change resolution and what not.
